Frequent Questions

How do I start?

Just choose a class time that suits and come as you are. No prior experience is necessary as we are dedicated to sharing yoga with you whatever level of fitness, age or stage of life you are. We are skilled in being able to modify postures according to your needs so you can fully enjoy your yoga practice.

What should I wear?

Loose, comfortable, clothing is recommended like exercise or track pants and a T-shirt.
Wearing layers is a good idea for your comfort as your body will warm up and cool down again during relaxation. Yoga is a barefoot practice so wearing easy slip off shoes is recommended.

What do I bring?

We request that you bring a blanket and a cushion for your comfort and a yoga mat. Limited mats are provided however, you are encouraged to purchase your own mat for hygienic reasons and so you can practice at home. Mats can be purchased from Yogafusion.

What about eating before class?

It is recommended that you do not eat for 2 hours prior to class. Bending and stretching with a full stomach can be uncomfortable.

Do I need to be flexible?

Only in the mind! At yogafusion we recognize that everyone is different with various physical limitations. We encourage you to work within your own limits, taking care of your own body and with time your flexibility may even improve.

What if I experience pain?

We do not advocate pain and yoga should not hurt. Let your teacher know if you are experiencing any pain and a modification can be given or you can choose to rest. In Yoga it is important to listen to, honour and work safely with your body. Your teacher is trained to help you practice yoga safely so only do what is comfortable for you.

You should also let your teacher know if you have any injuries or medical conditions.

I am pregnant, can I still do yoga?

Yoga is a wonderful practice to do during pregnancy; however we recommend you attend a prenatal class which is specifically designed and specialized just for pregnancy. It is recommended that you check with your health care professional before beginning yoga.
