The Retreat

Immerse. Restore. Awaken

6 Night Retreat in Queensland
Aug 23ʳᵈ-29ᵗʰ 2026

Step away from the noise of everyday life, join Simon and Kate and settle into the calm of The Retreat. Created as a nurturing space to unwind and realign, this experience invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with your body, mind, and inner quiet.

We invite you to join us in the Noosa Hinterland to find a space of movement, reflection, and rest. Each day offers time to awaken your energy in the morning, build connection and strength in the afternoon, and unwind into stillness as evening settles in. Together, we’ll create space to breathe deeply, move with intention, and restore balance in both body and mind.

A Sanctuary for Reconnection

The Retreat weaves together practice and connection in a way that supports both body and mind.

We'll begin each day with an uplifting morning vinyasa practice to awaken your energy, followed by an afternoon flow to build strength. As evening falls, there will be a restorative yin practice to gently guide you into stillness.

Each day's practice consists of:

Morning

A vinyasa practice to awaken your energy for the day

After lunch

Guided workshops and deep dives into yoga’s history, philosophy and traditions. These sessions are an open forum to discuss and reflect, with the aim of enriching your practice both physically and mentally.

Here we can explore:

  • In-depth looks at physical postures for more detail
  • The philosophy of why we do the postures, going beyond the physical
  • Discussion of the history of yoga: our lineage, the roots of the practice and how it relates to us today.

Afternoon

A second vinyasa practice to build connection to and integrate what we've explored so far.

Evening

A restorative yin practice — time to soften, unwind, and prepare for nighttime.

Time to Pause, Refresh and Renew

The entire time here is an opportunity for the pace to soften. There's no rushing to make it to your practice on time, no dramatic shift from daily life to finding your own space. The day is your practice.

Unhurried mornings and gentle afternoons create space to truly unwind — to let your practice, rest, and reflection all come together.

Each day, you’ll be nourished with three wholesome meals prepared by our professional caterer, designed to support vitality, digestion, and balance. In between, there’s time to wander, write, nap in the sun, or simply be — no rush, no expectations, just space to breathe and restore.

Nourishment, Thoughtfully Prepared

Every meal at The Retreat is lovingly crafted to support your wellbeing — nourishing, flavourful, and made from fresh, wholesome ingredients. Our professional caterer designs each menu to complement your practice, offering food that energises without heaviness and comforts without compromise.

Catering for Every Body

We understand that everyone’s needs are unique, and we take great care to accommodate all dietary requirements and preferences. Whether you’re plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free, or have other specific needs, your meals will be thoughtfully prepared so you can relax and enjoy every bite with confidence and ease.

A Day to Explore

Midway through the retreat, we’ll enjoy a group outing; a chance to step beyond the retreat space and explore the local area. We're planning on visiting the local Eumindu market, offering time to connect, reset and experience the surroundings without the structure of practice.

Finding more by doing less

The Retreat offers a fusion of movement, restorative stillness, philosophical inquiry and embodied wisdom.

It’s not about doing more, but arriving more fully. Every element - from practice to meals to time outdoors - is designed to help replenish energy, restore harmony and bring you closer to stillness and connection.

Beyond the Mat

Between classes, workshops and meals, you’ll have space for connection or solitude as suits you.

Whether you want to relax in the onsite steam room, swim in the magnesium pool or find a space for yourself we create a supportive environment to provide what is needed for true rest and renewal.

Return Home Refreshed

This isn’t an escape — it’s a return.

A return to stillness, intention, and inner steadiness. You’ll leave feeling restored, energised, and quietly empowered. Whether you’re hoping to deepen your practice, explore the roots of yoga, or simply create space to breathe again, The Retreat invites you to return to daily life with a renewed sense of clarity, softness, and presence.

Your Hosts

Simon

Simon began practising yoga in 2001 and completed his 200-hour teacher training in 2013, beginning a lifelong journey of sharing yoga’s depth and wisdom. As the owner of yogafusion in Adelaide, he is dedicated to creating a space where people can move, breathe, and reconnect with themselves.

Grounded and reflective in his approach, Simon values yoga as both a healing practice and a way of living with purpose. His teaching is inspired by curiosity, openness, and the belief that yoga should be prescriptive and not descriptive. One of his greatest influences is Viktor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning, a book that continues to shape his understanding of both resilience and compassion.

Kate

Kate has been practising and studying Buddhist meditation since 2007, when The Wise Heart by Jack Kornfield inspired her first retreat in India. She went on to train at Spirit Rock Meditation Centre in California before returning to Australia in 2015 to continue her studies with mentor Alan Bassal.

With a background as a yoga teacher, firefighter, and paramedic, Kate’s teaching is grounded in trauma awareness, safety, and compassion. She co-created the Mindfulness-Based Trauma Recovery and Prevention program for frontline workers and now leads Insight retreats around Adelaide, as well as mindfulness and yoga programs across Australia and online.
